I installed ubuntu 11.10 very recently, not incredibly IT literate, finding my way around.
Can't connect from Firefox to my.virginmedia.com.
I'm warned against continuing because someone may be trying to impersonate the site

I have Chromium as the default web browser. A certain site only allows the use of either Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers.
When I open up the dashboard and type it in the search, I can't find it.
Usually I can fix just about anything that comes up on my home computer but firefox is giving me a heck of a time.
Problem:
Some sites do not load at all (most important one being bank site)
No videos play at all
What i have done:
Checked flash player, ensured it was up to date
Checked to see all plugins were updated
Started firefox in safemode
uninstalled flashplayer and firefox and

Anyone else having problems pulling up Full Sites on any browser installed? So far I have tried with a few websites and I always get redirected to a bango.net error.
Anyone have any idea why?

Now, other people I've asked (about 4 or 5) say the site works fine on their computers, in a variety of browsers, with no security warning.
I am trying to authenticate using my USB smartcard reader to a website.
I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, with its most up to date Firefox browser 3.6.24.

The browser market for GNU/Linux is dominated by Chrome and Firefox, with Opera on the sidelines with a smaller percentage of users. but as in all fields also in this one GNU/Linux offers many really interesting alternatives that you should evaluate.
