How do I fix a download issue when updating?
maybe this is a dumb question, but I am just a newbie ....
I have a problem with a pc running Ubuntu 10.04
Each time I try to sudo apt-get update it stops to download after few time:
Code:
Get:1 http://it.archive.ubuntu.com precise Release.gpg [198B]
Ign http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main Translation-en_US
Ign http://it.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/restricted Transl
I'm running ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) on this machine, and suddenly, apt is unable to update properly.
If I ask it to update its package information, by running apt-get update (or alternatively telling the update manager to "check"), it succeeds for about 120 packages (more precisely, I get about 120 Ign/Hit notes) and then says it cannot find universe Sources and restricted amd64:

Hi
I am trying to setup an internal ubuntu mirror. I have a lot of information, but this distro is really doing my head in in more than one way.
When i tried to update my Ubuntu 12 through the update manager iv received an error about some unknown resource. so i tried doing it from the terminal with
'sudo apt-get update'
but all i got is:
'0% [Connecting to 192.168.43.1'
repeating it self...
I tried all the solutions on this and still having an issue.
I am behind a proxy so I have updated /etc/apt/apt.conf with my proxy settings and I have removed the old lists with sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf.
However I still get the following:
sudo apt-get update
Ign http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com precise InRelease
Ign http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com precise-updates InRelease
Ign http://gb.archi
this is what i got
W: Failed to fetch http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports/dists/squeeze-backports/con... Could not resolve 'filtr.nycboe.org'
W: Failed to fetch http://backports.debian.org/debian-backports/dists/squeeze-backports/mai... Could not resolve 'filtr.nycboe.org'
