Hey guys. Went back to KDE, but I'm having one issue that irritates me. My brightness control works perfectly fine using my brightness keys, and KDE's power manager, but I have a issue that irritates the hell out of me. KDE does not recognize the brightness keybinds what so ever.
I have Sony VAIO and I have problem with brightness when i try to adjust it through fn+f5 or f6 key. When the brightness is set to 100% and when i want to increase it with Fn+f6 keys, brightness decrease dramatically (whereas he should have stayed at 100%). After press keys, brightness is set to 10% and i cannot increase through Fn keys.
I have Dell studio 1555 Laptop, I installed Fedora 12, if I press brightness control key's, menu comes but brightness is not varying and dvd drive eject key is also not functioning, but sound control Keys are working.
So i've recently installed Kubuntu 13.04 on my Vivobook V300 and i've just noticed a strange bug with my keyboard brightness FN keys. If I use the Brightness Down button it works as expected, however if I use the Brightness Up key it seems to scroll through 3 different brightness levels before returning to the first and repeating the process.
The brightness keys on my Dell N4010 with Ubuntu 12.04 is causing ubuntu to freeze on a black screen if i press the BrightUp and BrightDown key(s) 3-4 times. I think this is a bug which was noticed in 10.04 and was patched, but its giving problem in 12.04 again to me. I tried remapping and disabling the brightness keys but it did not work out. Please help.
Installed Slackware 14.0 on my older Gateway CX2756 and it works great right out of the box and now its time to make all sorts of tweaks and I ran into an interesting issue. The function keys work and I can use them to control volume and brightness, but the brightness gets wonky.
I have an MSI Wind U120 (I dont know if that's relevant) and when I use the shortcut keys to turn down or turn up the brightness it switches between two brightness levels right next to each other and makes my screen flash between brightnesses. This also happens when I shut my laptop screen and open it up. It DOES NOT flash between brightnesses when I use the brightness applet on the panel.
