http://www.liberiangeek.net – In this short tutorial, I’ll show you how to synchronize your bookmarks and (optionally) your passwords on multiple computer using a Firefox extension called Xmarks. One downside of bookmarks is they’re stored on the local computers and cannot be shared with other computers without program like Xmarks. For example, if you bookmarked a webpage on your work computer and went home and tried to access that bookmark, it would be impossible to do. But with tool like Xmarks, all your bookmarks on separate computers can be shared.   Xmarks is a Firefox Add-on that allows you to synchronize and backup your bookmarks, passwords on multiple computer. Install it on all your computers with Firefox and where ever you create a bookmark, it will be shared with other computers.   To install Xmarks on your Firefox web browser, click Tools –> Add-ons. Then select Get Add-ons and search for xmarks.       2) Select ‘Xmarks Bookmark and Password Sync’ and click the Add to Firefox button to install. When prompted, click the Install Now button to install. Restart when done.       3) Click Xmarks image to configure.       4) Click Next to continue, then choose to register or if you already have an account, login.     5) Create an account if you don’t have one and click Next. Next choose to synchronize your password.       6) Enter your PIN if you already setup one on another computer. The PIN is created on the first computer you setup. Subsequent computer will need to enter the PIN. Click Next and choose to merge data on other computers with this computer.     7) Start the synchronizations process.       Check all systems and you should see that they all have the same bookmarks and passwords. This is one good way to ease your browsing experience.   Join the forum discussion on this post — (1) Posts (HowTos)
