Welp either kyocera is being awesome and giving us Jelly bean or they caught wind of our root capability's and are trying to put a stop to it. I received a notification about a firmware update today and im not eager to push it so soon after getting root. If there's anyone on here that doesn't care about loosing root(Not many) then please update and tell us what its about.
My phone automatically downloaded the software update from Verizon and, as I understand it, if I do the update I will loose root. I want to stop the notifications from occurring so i don't mistakenly hit the update button. Does anyone know how to stop the notices? I will eventually update but I need to wait a bit.
I keep getting an update for sprint on my vm ZTE awe. My phone is rooted and will not update. How important is this update? I would need fo factory reset recovery and os. Recovering stock to update just to root again is a pain.second question, if I don't update can I stop it form asking me to update it?
I rooted my S5 when I first got it simply to use the volume boost mod. A week ago I decided to unroot so I can OTA update, ready for when major updates to the firmware on the phone are released. Anyway. An updated firmware became available so I tried to OTA update (not really expecting it to work) and got the "Modified firmware such and such" error come up.
I am s-off and rooted with custom recovery.I renamed the update zip in cache and still keep getting the update popup. It was easy on my s4 and g2 just freeze update.I do not see a update apk listed in root explorer on this phone.
so i returned my phone to complete stock not sure if my counter is reset to 1 dont know how to check it without triggering the meter. anyways when i click on software update it just says checking for software updates and wont stop or cant find anything. is my phone not completely back to stock thats why its not able to stop searching?
is there a way to stop the update notification from coming up everytime the phone is unlocked? my wife had done the last update but not the new kit kat one. i have not done either on my phone as i like the look of sense prior to any update but on my phone the update notification stops coming up after a few times of hitting back or home after unlock. however my wifes does not stop.
