http://www.liberiangeek.net – If you still not using Google Chrome as your default web browser, then I have news for you – and that’s, you’re missing out on a really good web browser. Chrome allows you to make good use of the browser’s space by removing the clutter that you find on other web browsers. The browser is lightweight and fast when compared to Internet Explorer. The web address box is also used for searching and that also free up more space. Put all together, you’ll get a fast, simple, lightweight, stylish and efficient web browser.   In the brief tutorial, I’ll show you how to use Speed Dial, an extension for Chrome, to speed up your browsing experience. It creates quick launch thumbnails of websites on the home page for quick access. What is really cool about this is that you can browse to your favorite websites without typing a single website address.     To get started with SpeedDial, open your Chrome browser and click on the tool bar wrench then click on Extensions.     2) Click to browse the gallery if you don’t have extensions install. On the extension homepage, search for Speed Dial in the search box. 3) Click on Speed Dial and click the Install button to download the extension.     4) Click the Install button to install.     5) Next click on the tool wrench and select Options. Next select to use the New Tab page as your home page. Click Close when done.     5) Close and re-open Chrome browser. You’ll see the little boxes with numbers. These are placeholders for website thumbnails. You can always click the Option button the make changes as you wish.     6) When you browser to your favorite websites click the button to the right of the search bar to add to the quick launch page. Do this to all the sites you want on your homepage.       7) This is how your Speed Dial page looks. As you browse and click the Speed Dial icon, those websites will be added. When done, click options from the home page and select to remove Speed Dial icon. If you need to quickly go to any of the pages on the homepage, just click the thumbnail.       Hopefully you’re already using Speed Dial to speed up your web browsing. If not, I’d recommend that you try it and see if it fits you needs. Until then, take for come and hope to see you soon. Join the forum discussion on this post — (1) Posts (HowTos)
