I am tryign to setup 2 networks for my company. I need 1 network for the first room and another network on the second room. Each room can't access another room's computer. I have setup 2 workgroups for each room but it seems that the workgroup can't setup passwords. Every computer is in the same subnet with static ip. They all connect to a switch -> router -> modem.
I am a bit new to vlan, so forgive me if I ask noob question.
I am trying to setup a vlan on my netgear switch (GS105E). I want to create 2 separated networks and I want both of them have internet access.
My setup is
Modem
connect to
router WRT54G (with dd-wrt)
connect to
netgear switch
I have configured port 1 and port 5 as vlan1 and port 2 to port 4 as vlan2.
So the setup looks like this:
There is a main WLAN-router/modem which is connected to the internet and serves the lower floor with WLAN. Now upstairs I have a second WLAN-router/modem (I will call it router two from now on). A normal ethernet cable is plugged in in router two in one of the four ethernet ports and also in one of the four ethernet ports in router one.
I'm building a lab network with some old Cisco gear so that I can properly test the deployment of a Read-Only Domain Controller in a vacuum (no connectivity to our production network).
Hi everyone,
I'm currently attempt to setup a transparent proxy between my linksys router and my wifi access point.
The hardware setup like the following
Linksys Router --> Ubuntu PC (2 Network Card) --> switch --> Access Point --> Laptop
On the Ubuntu PC, eth0 is connected to the router, eth1 is connected to the switch
Scenario: I have an old Dell desktop connected to my router. The router's a Linksys WRT54G with the Tomato firmware. The box has openssh-server installed and running on port 2222.
I have the following scenario:
I have a Cisco Aironet 1040 access point. I have it configured with two SSIDs, each going to a different VLAN.
Hi fellow LQers,
Problem Summary:
- Linksys WRT54G dd-wrt NOT able to route when in Router mode
Env:
- Linksys WRT54G running dd-wrt v24 firmware
- LAN Subnet: 10.0.0.0/8
- WAN Subnet: 172.16.0.0/16
- Linux FC13 configured as a IPv4 router
- LAN 172.16.0.0/16
- WAN ISP/Public IP
Setup:
wired/wireless client -> Linksys WRT54G -> Linux FC13 router -> Intern
Ok, I'm having a bit of trouble getting this setup. I'm not really sure what direction I need to be looking in.
I am on ATT UVerse and I have to use their horrible 2Wire Modem/Router. But with this router, I have very limited control over my network and my wifi range is too small for my house. But, I have a hardwire ran to my TV which I have hooked into a switch and split the line to my PS3.
