I need freelancers to be able to download and upload files to some of my websites on my Ubuntu server, but not all.
How do I set it up so that each freelancer is a user who has access to only the sites that they should be able to access and nothing else?

We've just moved to Server 2008 R2, and I have setup folder redirection for our users using group policy.
All folders redirect and work as expected:

Have an Ubuntu server here with several Samba shares for Windows machines.
Have multiple Windows machines which authenticate with samba to group shares and one public share. All working perfectly and have been for many years.
Recently my Manager changed a setting in smb.conf to get a Mac working, I believe it was the security = setting. It now reads security = user.
I have a few conditions to meet with a new samba setup.I want to migrate a windows based share to a linux samba share. However this time the share is in the regular corporate LAN and I do not have the rights to add this samba server to the corporate windows domain.
Is it possible to access media/live or recorded TV on a PC running Win 7 shared via Windows Media Center from a Ubuntu machine (12.04)? I can access media stored to disk via the Workgroup shares but I imagine WMC is accessed differently.

i want to mount a FTP server with vsftpd.
My requirements are:
-Six different folders where is stored all information according to what is it about.
-Seven users with access to some of the last six folders, each user has access to a different group of folders, some of them has access to all folders and others to only one.
I'm thinking about the best way of accomplish this.
I'm running samba on Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS, I've some folders on samba share and created some user to access it, but suddenly some of the user are not able to access it for a certain time only.
For i.e:
There are 5 users as A,B,C,D,E and there are two folders in samba share name as "test" and "develop"
"test" doesn't have any user access password but "develop" has user access with password.
