This guide will shown you step by step installing ownCloud Server 5 in Ubuntu Server 12.10. OwnCloud 5 has been released and announced by Owncloud developer, come with new User Interface (UI), but also useful features such as improved contacts, a new search, antivirus checking, an improved calendar and more
I have installed owncloud server on a desktop and can connect on local only. No problem accessing with browser at localhost/owncloud; however get connection refused when trying to access from either of my notebooks.
The server and one notebook are running Fedora 19_64 bit.
I am currently using a Debian 7.1 system for web serving purposes.
I am using nginx as web server and am running owncloud.
Owncloud is installed in /var/www/owncloud
Data sent into owncloud resides in /var/www/owncloud/data
Now, after testing some and I have limited space on the drive in the server, I was tempted to test using an NFS-mount on an OmniOS/ napp-it based serve
Debian 7.1.0 server running nginx 1.2.1, hosting OwnCloud 5.0.13
OwnCloud default installed in /var/www/owncloud
Files uploaded to owncloud reside in /var/www/owncloud/data
However, diskspace is running low.
Idea is to move data to a file server which has more space, but I have a permissions problem.
File server in question is based on OmniOS (illumos derivate) managed by napp-it, ZFS file
My question is if anyone has any knowledge or resources on installing the owncloud server on my pc running ubuntu server 12.04. I installed ubuntu server 12.04 and did not know what to do at command prompt so I ended up doing the install desktop command so I could have a GUI. I have the server package downloaded but do not have the permission to move it into the var/www/ folder.
So I recently set up a OwnCloud server on Ubuntu Server 12.04. It's running and I have my ports forwarded to 80 and my Apache webiste is public. But, I'd like for my Owncloud to be public so my friends can connect too. Is there a way to do this? Or by default is it public and I give my friends links to my site..?
126.96.36.199/owncloud if it works.
