I'm trying to setup a development server on my computer using Ubuntu 11.10 \n \l (Desktop, 64bit AMD) and VirtualBox 4.1.8r. I have installed the Guest Addtitions from the VirtualBox "Devices" > "Install Guest Additions" menu. The installation went smoothly, and I was able to connect to the internet using the default NAT network setup.
I have a Windows 7 host machine running VirtualBox (v4.122) and a guest VM of Kubuntu 12.04 running Apache2.
I can access the Apache server from the host machine but it will only load the default Apache welcome page and is ignoring all of my virtual hosts.
Some more details about the configuration:
The Kubuntu VM has several virtual hosts that all work fine when accessed via a web browser insi
Aim: To be able to access RStudio Server page from other internal PCs (all
windows)
I barely know linux and everything I've done so far has been due to walkthroughs and the helpful responses to questions on this site.
Hi there,
I have a problem with guess host use Bridged Network on VMWare. I install the guest OS CentOS (192.168.1.37 )on host Windows XP SP2 (192.168.1.33), I try to use bridged-connection so the guess can appears as an additional server on the same physical Ethernet network as my host. My problem is:
Heya All,
I am running VirtualBox 3.2.8_OSE r64453 on Lubuntu 10.10, running an Ubuntu Server 12.04 install, and wish to allow communication from host to guest, as well as guest to network. However, while the guest can communicate with the host, that is as far as communications go. I have the guest set up with two adapters; one NAT, and one Bridged (tried Host-Only as well), but to no avail.
Hi there. I have a strange problem here. I've set up ubuntu server 10.04 x64 with kvm and bridged networking and installed win server 2008 as a guest os. The guest os has full access to the network including lan/wan but the host os can only reach my lan and not the wan.
I am running VirtualBox 4.1.6 on Windows 7 on fairly quick machine with 12G of ram. I have a virtual machine running Ubuntu 11 on which I am doing rails development. When I run up the WebBrick server and try to browse to the site from the host OS (Windows 7), there is a long delay before the page is returned, and its the same for subsequent requests.
I have installed and setup a guest Mageia 2 on VirtualBox which I plan to use as a development web server. My host is Windows 7 (64-bit) and I want to access the web sites from this host web browser.
I have set VirtualBox Network setting of Mageia guest OS to "Bridged Adapter" and I took the IP address of eth0 and entered that on my host web browser.
I have several virtualbox applicances (windows, linux) each of them configured with two network adapters:
NAT for acessing the internet
host-only for hosts <> hosts and hosts <> guest communication
Problem is, I can conly communicate by ip address. I want to communicate by hostname, ie, I want to be able to reach any host from any other host (or guest) by using the hostname.
