Hey all. ):P
After installing CLAWS mail client, I purged Thunderbird.
But now in the menu bar, under the mail icon, clicking "mail" redirects to nothing.
I can't seem to right-click and edit it, and I'm not sure where to enable CLAWS as the default mail client. In fact, I'm kinda lost with Unity: I prefer KDE, but Kubuntu was a little unstable on my machine.
Thoughts?
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I'm trying to change my default mail client (To Evolution), I'm fairly new to Ubuntu and Linux but I've gone to System Settings >Details > Default Applications & Change it. Yet when I click the system tray icon thing at the top, it still brings up Thunderbird when I click "Compose New Mail" and what not, does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm sure this is a simple question but I've spent a long time Googleing to no end. I'm simply trying to send an email from commmand line in OpenSuse12.1 using a "default" mail program that is available on most standard linuxes. As I understand it 'mail' is that program, but that only returns 'command not found'. I've searched for mail in Yast but only came up with lots of third-party programs.

I've searched and searched but couldn't find a solution.Problem:I want to add my email client, Claws Mail, to my shortcut keys in Conky.I successfully installed Claws Mail. But what a long chore. At least 10 steps!!!Thanks to Icyos's YouTube video for that help.Otherwise I'd would been here asking you kind folk.Claws Mail is now a menu item and pops up when selected. But ge

We know that some of you Ubuntu lovers out there wanted Thunderbird as the default mail client for Oneiric, but there are many others that still love E... (read more)
I have to admit I am an email junkie. I rely on my email client for keeping up with my work as well as my personal life. From my email client I require speed, power, and flexibility. When you think about email in Linux you think of three main players: Thunderbird, Evolution, and KMail.
I'm looking for a lightweight SMTP client to register as default mail client in a windows environment for 3rd party applications delivering their mails.
I don't want to install a heavy weight mail client like Outlook und Windows Mail doesn't seem to send all mails correctly, especially if the recipient is the used account itself.
