I know there are issues with this, but I haven't heard of a resolution. And some of the suggestions just confuse me.
I have a Dell XPS with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M with Optimus running Precise Pangolin.
I've installed bumblebee and the everything works pretty well, EXCEPT for my HDMI port to my external monitor. I use this for a dual monitor with the laptop screen as my primary.
I had my system working pretty good with the external monitor working with the displayport. Unfortunately I felt that I should try to install Bumblebee. It didn't work. The monitor wasn't recognised. So I uninstalled it with the instructions on ubuntus wiki. But it didn't get back to the way it was. And when I copied the Purge-command it started deleting other stuff to, like Cheese and whatnot.
Dear all,
I have a Dell XPS13 connected via a mini-display port+DVI cable to an external monitor. I have installed Kubuntu 13.04 and all is working well, EXCEPT that the resolution on the external monitor only mirrors the resolution of my laptop screen (1920x1080). I only see one "default" screen when I try to set it up (settings-> display, or kcm_screen).
Hi,
I'm using dual monitor on Ubuntu 12.10. Both monitor had same brand and type, the only difference is one using DVI cable and others using RGB. The DVI Monitor resolution are 1280x1024 and the other monitor are 1024x768. How I could change the resolution of my RGB monitor to be the same as DVI monitor.
So I have an Acer x163w widescreen monitor.
In monitor setting my Monitor is an unknown.
My resolution size is stuck at 1024x768 i believe.
I have tried manually to change the screen resolution and nothing.
I am running Ubuntu 12.10 on an Hp Pavillion m7360 Desktop.
Updating the NVidia drivers sends my machine into a storm and things just fall apart until I have to do fresh install.
I
Hello!
So I have yet another dual monitor setup question.
I am using ubuntu 12.10, with gnome classic (not unity)
I have a laptop with my LCD screen (duh), and an external monitor that is connected most of the time, but not always, and sometimes I have to disconnect it while working to use it for other things.
Problem is: When the external monitor is connected, I use that as my main display, a
I am having trouble setting the correct resolution on my external monitor via HDMI
I have the gen3 Sandy Bridge processor with an Nvidia card. After I installed the Nvidia driver I got 640x800 resolution on my laptop monitor, but was able to set 1080p on my external monitor.
I have just setup a dual monitor system with a 23 inch LED monitor and a 19 inch LCD monitor. The 23 inch one is connected through HDMI. The 19 inch one is connected to the analogue port of the same GPU (Nvidia Geforce 210).
In Ubuntu 12.10, after installing Nvidia drivers, the 23 inch monitor works fine but the 19 inch monitor got a very low resolution.
When I originally plugged in the second monitor into my laptop, I had no issues. However, the Grid setting in CompizConfig Settings Manager was bothering me when I tried to move windows between the two screens, so I disabled it. I then tried to enable to cube.
