for trying to get rid of a trayicon issue on my system, the mate window manager seems to be not working anymore.
after login, i still get a gui, but only a terminal is running in there.
also no panel and menus are available.

I tried to install MATE from Add/Remove Software, selecting MATE from the package collections. During the download/install there was a power outage. The result is something that is somewhat installed.
When I log in, MATE is one of the sessions available. If I use it, it seems to mostly work but it is broken. What does not work is gnome-terminal.
Recently i decided to try MATE. I had XFCE installed. So I ran:

would uninstall JUST mate. But I realized mate and xfce share some dependencies. My desktop crashed.

I am really glad to see that MATE is included in fc18 future plans.
I just installed Alpha version but I cannot find a way to install mate. I installed all the mate-* packages but still no option for MATE.
Is MATE included in the Alpha version?
