I created a custom shortcut Ctrl+Alt+T that calls x-terminal-emulator. For some reason, it does not work (nothing happens when hitting the mapping).
Not much time after I installed my ubuntu, I installed ubuntu tweak and added shortcut keys for the applications I used most.
However, I wanted to remove a shortcut key and was not able to (the last one). At least, I couldn't figure out a way to do that. I want to reconfigure them using ubuntu's keyboard tool, so I don't mind if I have to delete all shortcut keys from ubuntu tweak.
I'm on Ubuntu 12.10, and I am having trouble with the Ctrl + Alt + KP_PLUS, and Ctrl + Alt + KP_MINUS buttons. Whenever I press that combination it changes my resolution and it really interrupts my work flow.
I have 2 bugs in my Ubuntu 12.04 fresh installation using a Macbook Pro keyboard. Note: I swapped the Ctrl and Cmd keys (Ctrl and Super on regular keyboards), but that should not affect the shortcuts I program.)
First
I changed the Switch application shortcut from Alt-Tab to Ctrl-Tab. It saves this correctly but the change does not seem to take effect. I rebooted and it still doesn't.
Hey everyone,
I'm using xbindkeys and xbindkeys-config to make some shortcuts. I was wondering if it's possible to make it so I can make combo key presses of non-modifier buttons (eg. pressing f+b to run "chromium-browser facebook.com")
If I try using c:41 + c:56 it just makes it so that the site opens when i hit the b key. Any help?
Thanks!
In short: is there (under Unity) any way to find out which application grabbed some global shortcut? I do not ask for "standard shortcuts" but for some way to get information about actual shortcuts (which app is actually keeping given key just now in my current config)
Longer story:
I have repeatable problems with managing keyboard shortcuts.
My laptop keyboard does not have media shortcut keys (e.g. "Next Track", etc). I frequently use the laptop connected to an external keyboard, which does. I go to Settings->Keyboard->Shortcuts tab, and select "Sound and Media", and I see that "Next Track" is bound to the shortcut key "audio next".
In an android app I am making, I want to allow users to place shortcuts on their homescreen that will make my app perform certain actions. So far, I made it successfully create the shortcut (they are created through the launcher, not through the app directly).
I want to get rid of it cause it's a bother to me & I never use this shortcut. Is it possible to remove it? I know deleting the icon won't work.
