I have Ubuntu 12.04 running on my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420s. My issue is that whenever I use the dedicated hardware volume buttons (up or down), the volume will go up the first time I press the button, and on the subsequent press, the volume will mute. If I press it again, the volume will go up, and on the subsequent button push, the volume will mute again.
We have shown you how to restore your Ubuntu menu buttons back to the right, if you find that the button on the left are disorienting for you.
Hi,
I can not adjust the volume using Fn+F3/F4 keys. When I press it once (for example Fn+F4 in order to increase the volume) it goes slowly all the way till the end (highest volume) and balloon notification blinks as if I was still pressing the button. The same with decreasing the volume. Brightness control works as it should.
My system is updated Ubuntu 9.10
I'm trying to backup and restore an EBS volume on EC2.
I've gone through all of the volume settings and can't seem to find a way to do it.
Does anybody know if there's a toggle setting or any way to have the volume button turn all of the volume levels down at the same time. In my past devices, there's been a toggle where, when I press volume up or down, it'll lower the system and riingtone volume at the same time.
I would like to know if it is possible to fully integrate ossxmix with gnome control volume through volume icon/button (that in the system tray - at the far-right of the top Gnome panel-), I mean, when I set the volume from ossxmix that same volume could be updated in the gnome control volume automatically, and vice versa.
Do I have to shrink the C volume to another disk volume for downloading Ubuntu? Or can I just download Ubuntu in the default C volume?
Can I remove Ubuntu if I decide to do so?
Can I download directly from the installer without using USB or DVD?
I'm guessing it is stuck. As I'm typing this, the volume panel keeps popping up. If I try to adjust the volume slider down, it goes right back up. If it hit the down button, it will go away for a minute or two. It also keeps me from being able to put it to sleep. Could it be a software issue?

Hello,
I would like to install a custom ICS ROM, but the volume button doesn't work. I do diagnose this issue, and it appears that it is a hardware issue, so only the replacement of the motherboard can fix it (but this operation is not planned... relating to money issue...).
So, I understand that I'll have to make a goldcard, then downgrade the firmware to 1.73, then Root + S-Off...
