i have gotten a pdf document on a CD which i need to print out. a program called evince is the default document viewer that came with my installation of fedora. it displays the document on the monitor just fine, all 152 pages of it.
Hi all. I have no experience in linux systems and I wonder if someone can help me. I need to print in raw mode in an EPSON FX2190, so as I've read I've tryed to intall it in Generic - Raw Queue, but wen I send to print a document only rare symbols are printed.
I have set up pritning on a printer connected to a remote windows 7 machine.
When I print a document, I get a message on the bottom task bar saying it is printing, but the print doesn't get sent to the printer. I then bring up Print Settings, select the printer and use Printer > View Print Queue.
I am trying to print a simple report using the code below. On Windows, this code works fine when attempting to print to PDF generator driver (instead of a real printer). But, on my Linux box, when I test the code below, the Linux print dialog opens but I do not seem to be able to capture the print to file filename.
When I paste graphics/images into an odt file in LibreOffice Writer the graphics do not print out. Furthermore, when I include bullets in the document, the bullets are printed at the very edge of the paper. The print preview shows up correctly. However, printing the document produces the failure.

I have cups and use a program that produces the raw pcl format of the document I want to print.
I have no problem printing a normal text file as lp filename but when I give a file that has pcl escape sequences in it, I'll get immediately a completed status for this new print job - no printer reaction. Tried with 'lp -o raw filename` and the same thing happens.
