I have just upgraded from Thunderbird 15 to 16 and then found that Lightning 1.7 is not compatible with Thunderbird 16, leaving me without a calendar.
What are my options?
Should I try and go back to Thunderbird 15 or is there someway of finding a version of Lightning that is compatible with Thunderbird 16?
I am running 11.10 64 bit. I have lightning installed in thunderbird and would like to set it as my default calendar app. Is this possible? I found another question that asked the same thing but the answers that were given were only how to install it.
Some websites offer .ics files, calendar files. I would like thunrbird to open these with Lightning so it can add the events in the ics-file to its calendar.
When I use /usr/bin/thunderbird to open the file with, it starts a new message with the ics file attached.
I was using thunderbird v15.0 on ubuntu 12.04 LTS till now, and have the lightning extension installed to manage calendar within thunderbird application. everything was working fine until i decided to update thunderbird to the latest version 16.0 from ubuntu repository.

As part of a regular Ubuntu 12.04 update, Thunderbird was updated to version 19.0. My Lightning 2.01b version was disabled saying it is not compatible with TB 19.0. Ideas on how to recover my calendar will be appreciated.
This page makes me think that Lightning 1.7 is now unsupported on Ubuntu Lucid, but I couldn't find any official announce about it... Moreover, I can't find a way to a question to the team :( So, is Lightning officially unsupported or is it just an overlook?
I want to be able to use the calendar evolution: the calendar in Thunderbird is a plugin (Lightning) and from time to time when Thunderbird receives a new update, Lightning does not always update automatically as well. So I wanted to have it native in GNOME.
Can anyone explain to me how to do this?
Hello,
I have to configure thunderbird with lightning addon. From what I read, lightning 0.9 no longer supports thunderbird 3 (or vice versa). Therefore, I would like to install thunderbird 2. I've tried several ways, but always I get the 3.0 or 3.0b version. Can anybody help me instal thunderbird 2 ? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
