I also reinstalled libgdu. Result after a reboot: Still "Not Authorized".This time, neither notification-daemon, nor polkit-gnome-authentification-agent-1, nm-applet or ibus-daemon did start. No idea why. They are still in the .xinitrc and they did get started a few hours ago.
ibus works for me in java (ibus-anthy, but that shouldn't be a difference), but I don't have that line in my bashrc: ibus-daemon -d -x &

My Ibus works fine except the icon on Notification area. When I right or left click on it, the context menu just "blink" (the menu shows up and disappears immediately).
My problem is that I use Mozc to type Japanese. I can use shortcut key to switch to ibus-mozc but I can only input Hiragana.
1. this morning i found that my volume icon didnt appear in waldorf's tint2. how to bring it back again?2. how to use Ibus? i've try http://crunchbanglinux.org/wiki/howto/e

Hi. I wrote some time ago about my problems with sound in PulseAudio. I decited to remove it, and use only ALSA like I was few months ago (I think). Currently in alsamixer I have only "PulseAudio" master volume, before that I had more sliders. But... how to remove PulseAudio? Pacman says, that gnome-settings-daemon depends on pulseaudio. How can I disable it?
I disagree with peterfyj. Stil not outputing exactly what I type, preferences still refuse to be changed.I'm on the latest update, I've deleted ~/.config/ibus and reinstalled ibus & ibus-pinyin, no luck.
