I have 2 partitions on my computer:
one is "64 GB ext4" (with Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit)
and the other one is "Data 436 GB NTFS" (just for storing files)
On startup the second partition is not mounted before I click on "Locais" - this is in Portuguese (the button between Applications and System on the top bar) > "Data".
How do I make Ubuntu mount this partit

Hi All,
I installed ubuntu alongside with windows 7 but I am not getting the option for ubuntu in the windows boot loader.
I have a 320 gb hard disk:
C: drive - 40 gb windows has been installed on this
D and E drives - 250 gb used for data
F: drive - 15 gb firstly formatted as NTFS but used gparted to change the filesyste. This is the partition I used to install ubuntu.
I have 3 partitions on my HD: Windows, Ubuntu 12.10 (just installed), & Swap. When I boot the computer into Ubuntu, the side bar shows the Windows partition as mounted and it appears as a "folder" in the list of other folders in "File System". I would like the boot to NOT mount Windows, and to have Windows shown in the Side bar (as it did in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS as "OS").
Hi there,
I just bought recently a new HDD and I'd like to install Ubuntu 12.04 64bit on it as OS. Since I'm a bit new to Linux I don't know exatly how should I create the partitions to fit my needs. I'd like to have 4 partitions in the following order:
1. SWAP (6GB as my RAM)
2. System (30 GB, mounted to /)
3. Home (400 GB, mounted to /home)
4.
Hi, Im a noob coming over from windows so sorry if this is easy &/or has been answered and I could find it.
I am running a dual boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.10 on my Asus eeepc 1001px.
When the data loss problem occurred:
My Lenovo laptop has both Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. There are two ntfs partitions shared between the two OSes: one for Windows 7 installation ,and the other for personal data files.
Earlier today, when I was in Windows 7, I restarted the computer into Ubuntu.

I've always noticed this one thing in particular in the past when dual-booting.
