Does anyone know how many packages we should expect to see updated in the hop from the CR repo to the GA of 5.7? My update last night just brought me 8 packages - is that to be expected?
I have fedora 17. Before update packages I need to backup packages that will be updated. The probles is that my server is not connected to internet and I haven't access to online repos. Update comes to me with set of rpms.
I have a PC and a laptop. my laptop is always updated, so for updating the PC I don't want to download the packages again for my PC. What I do is copying rpm files from /var/cache/yum/i386/17/fedora/updates/packages to the corresponding directory of the PC.
Is there a better/faster way to do this? can I say yum connect with ssh to laptop and get updated packages from there?
Subject says it all. Repo is located at: http://slackware.org.uk/msb/ and is compatible with slackpkg+.

These are only updated when they bring nice improvements and no real regressions are found. That ofc means it can't be in the repo's as soon as it is released, need some upstream reports before any of that is known. That usually me
I'd use the IUS Community repo if you have to use an external repo at all. They have php 5.4 and their packages are regularly updated for security fixes. However, just like REMI and unlike Red... [by TrevorH]
