Hello
I have just installed Ubuntu 11.10 DVD ISO (the latest stable version I believe) and boot from by USB stick.
It has been working OK (except for odd crashes - such as "gnome-control-panel" has crashed on the user account screen).
I booted up this morning, and I was presented with a login screen, with a box saying "Other...".
I've got Fedora 18 with Gnome.
When I click a user name on the login screen, the other ones disappear but the password prompt never shows up. It stays this way for a few seconds, then comes back to the original state with the list of users.
After an inturrupted upgrade from 11.04 I was finally able to get back to a login screen. However, I'm only able to login as a guest.
When I try to login with my regular username, a black box opens up in the top left hand corner with:
(username)@(username)-Satellite-A135:~$
I've tried typing in my username, password...nothing.
I've just installed 11.10, and am using Gnome shell.
I would like to ask you about login command in bash shell Ubuntu linux...
I entered #login then it asks me about username and password..
Is this a way to log in with other users account?
I'm pretty new to android development. One of my buttons in the app, sends the user to a webpage, where the user can login into specific system.
The webpage has text boxes for username and password.
I have installed the Ubuntu 12.1 on VMWARE, but I am unable to login the system.
Its showing, that I can log in below but I can't enter the password (its not taking) but it is taking the username and it also telling to wait for the Graphical Environment to launch.
Kindly help to sort the issue.
Is there any way I can setup my Ubuntu PCs authentication (login) username / password system via some cloud / online account. So I can only access my PC using that online (or may be cloud) username password.
Hello dear friends of linux
I am neither a newbie nor an expert. I am administering a debian webserver (lenny) and run into a strange problem respectively new behaviour.
