How to make Logitech C525 work in Ubuntu12.04 new install with cheese [closed]

http://askubuntu.com – I have tried other threads here but none seem to precisely address or fix this issue. I have a new instal of 12.04 with Unity. Cheese is installed When i run gstreamer-properties it seems to work ok When I run cheese i get a black screen and all options are grayed out. When I command line cheese to start i get this error Could not negotiate format I have tried VLC capture device and it appears to work the command lsusb -v spits out so much info i can't make heads or tales of it. Any help is appreciated (HowTos)

Hi everyone,recently the application Cheese has stopped working for me. I run it from the command line, a bunch of errors spring up, the application window pops up, I can see my past pictures, but it is just black in the space where it would normally show what's my machine's built in webcam is seeing.

When I run cheese in terminal, it gives following message and cheese comes up with black screen, and nothing works in it. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank You

I have a problem getting my webcam to work. It works neither no cheese nor with skype. This is on linux-mint 14 Nadia, almost-fresh install.

lsusb shows this:

I run gstreamer-properties, and try to to test the video

Ubuntu 12.04 alpha 1 1 year 20 weeks ago

We have been using Ubuntu 12.04 alpha 1 with Unity 3 since last three weeks,

and all the functions and applications – installed and pre-installed – have been

working absolutely fine except with the exception of Cheese Webcam 3.2.2,

which was installed via Synaptics with all the recommended dependencies,

I have a Logitech C510 webcam connected to my desktop running 64-bit Ubuntu 11.10, but it doesn't seem to be working when I run Cheese and Skype. After doing some search, it seems this webcam should just work out of the box. However, Cheese and Skype don't seem to work with it.

Cheese, a Photobooth-inspired GNOME application for taking pictures and videos from a webcam which also includes graphical effects based on the gstreamer-backend, is now at version 3.6 RC.

I got have two Lifecam VX-2000's and they don't work in cheese anymore. I don't know if it's a problem with a missing package, or a package I installed. Here is the output.

Unknown to most, April 3rd is Cheese Weasel Day, the holiday where the Cheese Weasel brings dairy goodness to all the good boys and girls in the tech industry. While the origins are murky, it seems to have started around 1992 when a weasel was spotted carrying a Kraft Single. This, they assumed, must be the Cheese Weasel, and therefore, that it must be Cheese Weasel Day.
