I'd like to change the associated magnet link application from transmission to qbittorrent.
I'm running Lubuntu 12.10.
I've tried this so far and its still opening magnet links with transmission.
gconftool-2 -t string -s /desktop/gnome/url-handlers/magnet/command "/usr/bin/qbittorrent" gconftool-2 -s

This is really starting to tick me off. I've been trying for the last 3 days to get magnet links to work with Vuze in Ubuntu 12. I finally got them to work... only once and then never again.
Has anyone had any luck with trying to get xdg-open to work with magnet links in Chromium?
I hope this is the right place to ask for support with Crunchbang 11 and its apps etc?Is it possible for me to set up Chromium and Transmission so that when I click on a magnet link in the browser transmission will automatically open it?Thanks.
Using chrome as a browser, I am having problems using magnet links. I understand that chrome uses xdg-open to handle the links, but how do I configure xdg-open to send the link to transmission?

I tried to set kTorrent as the default app for magnet links and now in gconf the command for magnets is /usr/bin/ktorrent. However Chromium still opens magnets using Transmission.
Any ideas how I could get it to use kTorrent?
So I know firefox you can pretty much input what usr/bin/X software you want to have as opening different links or acting as handlers, but I've looked in chrome://chrome/settings/handlers on chromium and it does not give me the option to specify, Also, when i click on mailto links, nothing happens.
