How to proceed? Download all relevant rpms ? Which one?How to treat this like a repo and use yum install to finish up the job? [by centguy]
I have configure local yum repository in my red hat linux on vmware. Below are the steps i followed
1. mkdir -p /root/install/RPMS
2. Copy all the software/packages RPMS from instillation CD/DVD to /root/install/RPMS directory
3. rpm -ivh createrepo-0.4.11-3.el5.rpm
4. createrepo /root/install/RPMS
I have a local repo that has some rpms in it. The repo xmls etc are up to date.
When i find an rpm i dont have i want to be able to down load it, not install it obviously, and put that rpm into the repo dir.
I see i can use zypper install --download-only <packagename> but this seems to only work when i havnt got the package installed on my box else it says 'already' installed.
