I am trying to install few PHP tools in my Linux server by creating RPMs from source ( tar.gz) files. The issue here is that the tar.gz files does not have a configure file and so I am not able to do
Hi. I'm in the process of installing an application that has some requirements for specific RPMS to be placed in a directory in order for it to work correctly. An excerpt from the docs is below which flags which RPMS it needs but I can't figure out where to get them from on Red Hat's site.
I created a custom repo on one of my machines that I am able to grab updates from. However I also want to be able to install packages such as emacs, gcc, and the such from the repo. The updates work correctly and install. However if I do yum install emacs or yum install gcc using my custom repo, it says there is nothing to install. How do I go about adding package install to my repo?
When I use the createrepo command can I place RPMs (within the base dir) in multiple directories (think hierarchical) and still have yum recursively look at all the RPMs the directories within the base dir?
