Hello all! Recently my dad has bought a fancy lcd tv, so I'm looking for a media center app. I wanted to try Boxee, but I cannot find it neither in repos neither a download link :( Next going XBMC.. What's the difference between xbmc, xbmc live and xbmc standalone? Does xbmc has web browser to watch movies online?
Hello and merry Christmas!I have a problem installing XBMC. I have added the debian multimedia repos and am able to install XBMC 10 but that's too old. I would ideally like to install 11 or even 12 rc2. The problem is that when trying to install 11 or 12 rc2 using the Wheezy (testing) and Sid (unstable), the xbmc-bin and xbmc-data packages are corrupt.

After doing the update, I am now having problems launching the app. I uninstalled it in the software center, rebooted and the app is still located under applications. I then went into the terminal and used the command - sudo apt-get purge xbmc xbmc-standalone then put in my password, then a few moments later it looked like it was finished.
