http://www.unix.com – Hi Experts, I am a new born trying to start learning UNIX so please be patient. I have downloaded Free BSD 9.0 Release i386 All recently.Upon extracting it I found four Disc Image File. FreeBSD-9.0-RELEASE-i386-bootonly FreeBSD-9.0-RELEASE-i386-disc1 FreeBSD-9.0-RELEASE-i386-dvd1 FreeBSD-9.0-RELEASE-i386-memstick Now my question is do I need to make a CD with all these four image file or only Dvd1 will be suffice. Thanks in Advance!!! (HowTos)

The stable legacy branch of the popular BSD-based operating system FreeBSD has been updated to FreeBSD 7.3. The release is a housekeeping update that brings some newer packages and some security fixes, but no new features. FreeBSD 7.3 is now available for the amd64, i386, pc98, and sparc64 architectures.

I am trying to install FreeBSD but I am having a problem. My computer is a Thinkpad T400. I followed the instructions to install so I have downloaded the file FreeBSD-8.3-RELEASE-amd64-dvd1.iso and burned the iso image to disc. When I boot with the disc it comes to the Welcome to FreeBSD screen.
