Samba4 init script. My configure prefix was /opt/samba4 (as in aur package). So if you have configured default location, please change this path to /usr/local/samba in script./etc/rc.d/samba4:#!/bin/bash
Hi! I have successfully managed to migrate my samba 3 NT domain from gentoo to a fully operational samba 4 AD on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with roaming profiles, MMC management and what not. Over 50 users log into that daily.
I've got a number of problems, but let's tackle them one by one.
- Fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 Server x64
- Samba4 DC/AD setup as per http://www.tiltingatlinux.com/2014/0...on-ubuntu.html
- LAM installed with 'apt-get install ldap-acount-manager'
- All software installed from Ubuntu Official repos
What I am trying to do:
... is get LAM to manage my Samba4 setup.
As far as I know I need to get LAM to connect to the LDAP backup of Samba4.
I run a small home server and have never had a problem setting up a Samba server for my Mac clients. Since upgrading to 14.04 (with Samba4) I have been unable to connect from either OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or the new 10.10 (Yosemite) beta.
I've search all over the net for a guide to setting up a simple file server with Samba4 or a way to downgrade to Samba3.
I have recently upgraded to samba 4 from samba 3.5 on a RHEL 6.3 platform. It is pleasing that the new version can replace AD DC and has it's own built it kdc and ldb database. Now my intention is to make linux boxes authenticate to samba4 by connecting through ldap as samba 4 works like a kerberized ldap server.
