Finally Google Voice and Video chat available for Linux through web browsers using Google talk plugin.
Now you will need to chat directly using your web browsers by Voice with high quality voice, and video webcam chat available.
Also you can pop out the chat window with video chat included, and view the video chat in full screen mode.

I use Empathy to chat with my friends. I can use the web cam with my Google contacts thanks to a plugin, so I want to know if there's a plugin also to the MSN contacts.
I moved to Ubuntu 12.04 from Windows, and now I can't video chat with my friend using MSN Hotmail. I want to know if there's a plug-in that lets me do it.
does anyone has a clue why the Logitech E3500 camera stream is displayed in some kind of distored or tinted image in GoogleTalk chat ? In both setup window and in the online video chat too.
google-talk plug-in displays the picture with lines and wrong colors in it, also the resoltuion seems to be different to standard. Is the plugin trying to adjust "wide screen" res.
I downloaded Dropbox .deb from https://www.dropbox.com/install?os=lnx and the Google Voice Chat plugin from https://www.google.com/chat/video but when I click on the .deb files they open in Ubuntu Software Center. And when I click on install, nothing happens. The install button just turns grey.
I'm running 32 bit Ubuntu 12.10
Using Ubuntu's Firefox, I have installed Google Talk Plugin to enable video and audio chat. However it is not working with Firefox. It works just fine with Chromium from the repos. Is there a way to get this to work with Firefox?
Ever since I moved to Ubuntu, my only problem was that I couldn’t use GTalk in Ubuntu. Here comes the solution - GTalx. It works flawlessly on my Ubuntu 9.10 karmic running on Dell Inspiron 1525.
gtalX is a Linux client for gtalk, the voip application of Google. It supports voice and text-based chat. Before you download it, please read the ‘How to install’ paragraph below.
Joomla Chat -Chat for joomla users, this chat component provides the gmail style chat system for joomla users. Its support 3rd party component jomsocial, community builder, odudeprofile.

Hi Slackers,
I am going on a trip for work and it will be the first extended period of time away from the wife and young kids. I want to find an easy reliable method of video chat to keep in touch. There seem to be a lot of choices out there (see for instance the link below) but it's not clear which would work better/best on a slackware linux system.
