Install Dropbox on Fedora 18
This installation guide has been tested for Fedora 18. However, you can also use the same method to install Dropbox on Fedora 16 and Fedora 17.
Hello,
I tried installing dropbox on my Ubuntu 11.10 64 bit using Ubuntu Software Center and after downloading it hanged.
I'm using Debian 6 and Dropbox. I followed these commands to install it.
When I run ~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd — Dropbox works and stuff. Problem is that when I close terminal or, even worse, — reboot... Dropbox stops to work and I need to run that deamon again.
Are there any way I say to computer to automatically start that daeamon in background?
Hey guys, I'm on a new install, and I'm trying to get Dropbox working (it has my workspace folder for eclipse in it, among other things!)I tried following the wiki guide and some forum posts, but I'm having some trouble. Here's my error when I try to run it:dropbox start
Starting Dropbox.../home/user/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd: 10: exec: /home/user/.dropbox-dist/dropbox: not found
safetycopy wrote:I always install Dropbox by following the "Install Dropbox via command line" instructions from https://www.dropbox.com/install?os=lnx.To get the daemon to autostart, you just add~/.dropbox-dist/dropboxd &to your ~/.config/openbox/autostart file. --- THIS is what worked ... and THEN the ~/bin/nautilus mockup in the other post. .
Hi,my post installation run of Dropbox failed, but it left me with a modified dmenu: it thinks the installation completed correctly, so I have an unnusable Dropbox launcher (because dropbox software was never downloaded), and it deleted the dropbox-installation-script. Just wondering what that script does, before I re-install dropbox from scratch... Could anybody copy it here for reference?
Today a new stable Dropbox release (1.0.10) arrived. Some nice features and tons of bug fixes were introduced. The update is fairly easy:1. Stop Dropbox (right click on systray icon)2. Rename your /username/.dropbox-dist directory for backup reasons3.
hi guys
Running the Elementary OS beta on my gf's netbook and went to install Dropbox last night from the (unbranded) Ubuntu Software Center.
It downloaded, said it was installing, and then froze up ~80% of the way through.
My server is chugging along with a 5GB drive, and unfortunately, it's 100% full. Going to delete some files, I notice that my Dropbox's taking up way more than it should.
