Chromium web browser, the open source version of Google Chrome has reached version 21. The Chromium daily build ppa has stopped updating the packages after version 18 was released.

While Chromium team ppas won’t release new versions of Chromium browser, Alex Shkop will try to maintain more-or-less fresh releases of Chromium. Two PPAs were built for Chromium stable and Chromium development version.
Install Latest Version of Chromium:
For now, two PPAs only provide packages for Ubuntu 12.04. Launch a terminal from the dash home or press Ctrl+Alt+T.
Ubuntu 12.10 comes with Mozilla Firefox by default, it’s a great browser! but if you want a secondary web browser (or you like Google Chrome) then can also try Chromium (the open source project upon which Google chrome is based on) – it’s available there in Ubuntu Software Center, but you won’t get some chrome specific features such as in built flash player etc.
Installing Chromium (Google Chrome) on other editions of Ubuntu isn’t easy. You must add daily-chrome:PPA to the source list before you can install Chrome. Lucid Lynx makes installing Chromium easy and quick. Just few clicks and you’re done.
Google Chrome/Chromium browser has its own built in notifications for certain web apps, they look the same across all operating systems, but why not make it give you a default Ubuntu Unity / Gnome Shell notification instead?
There’s a simple extension properly support notify-osd notifications in Chrome.
I'm running a late pre-release 32 bit version of #! 10 “Statler”. Chromium is my browser of choice at the moment, though I drop in to chrome or iceweasel on occasion.I'm trying to stream .flv files from my server through to my browser, but both chrome and chromium can't cope with .flv, stating that the java plugin was blocked because it was out of date.
Chromium Browser has already reached version 21 but there is no easy way to install it on Ubuntu.
