How to increase transfer speed

http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi everyone, I have an acer aspire...came with a broadcom card that needed ndiswrapper and babysitting to make it work. It did work but just at 2Mbps and was a bit flaky. So I changed it with an intel pro card (don't remember exactly which model though but it was detected out of the box when I installed F10 so I didn't dig much more). Network Managers "Connection Information" shows ipw2200 and 54Mbps but I can sit next to the router with a perfect signal strength in the middle of the night when there are no microwaves or phones operating (and only 2 other visible routers in the neighborhood so no significant interference from there) and I can't get it over 2Mbps when transferring files to another machine... Why would it be maxing out at 2Mbps when the G router and ipw2200 driver are both set at 54?? (HowTos)
