Hey all. Apologies if this issue is caused by my own incompetence--I am still kind of new to all of this.
Basically my problem is that whenever I change my desktop wallpaper, the lock screen wallpaper won't change with it. Whenever I boot up my laptop, it shows a previously used wallpaper instead, only to return to the wallpaper that I had selected a little after login.
After logging in with 13.04 the Unity side bar appears and I can interact with my computer fine. However, my desktop wallpaper never appears, and I am left with the frozen login screen in place of my wallpaper. I cannot right click on my desktop to open the usual context menu that appears there. Trying to change my wallpaper in Appearance Settings doesn't seem to help. Any ideas?
I am having some trouble with my ubuntu....
As you can see in the title I tried the Cairo-Dock ,just 4 fun (I wish i did not)
Turns out I do not like it.. so I uninstalled it. Some minutes later I tried to change my wallpaper but , and here is the problem , it does not change. The only thing that does change is the color of the launcher.
I am attempting to get to have all background-wallpapers to be the same and to be changed at the same time.

=> only it is a wallpaper that I have named "2560x1600.png" and copied
i played with ubuntu tweak tool to change my login screen background but i could't use custom pictures. To use my pictures i changed permission to usr/share/backgrounds folder.
I search wikipedia and used every chmod command. At last i was able to copy my pictures to backgrounds folder. But now my login screen wallpaper does not appear.I tried setting default wallpaper but it also didn't work.Is ther
