http://www.linuxquestions.org – dear gurus i built a new basic squid proxy server. so when i check my ip from internet various website. it shows my local ip address. can someone advise 1) how to know squid proxy mode working in which mode, like tranparent rever or web proxy etc 2) how to hide all local ip from outside world, let our isp proxy global show everywhere by which traffic go out advise and kind regards (HowTos)

Hi all, I have configured Squid Proxy on CentOS 5.2. Internet is working fine. After enabling proxy on Windows system,I tried to ping to any website,but no getting request.But i can browse internet.

I am unable to connect to a server(having Public IP) from windows system which is in other location.

I am having squid proxy server running on OpenSuSe 10.2 I noticed when I generate report it just shows me last date log file. Although /var/log/squid contains logs of all previous dates.

hi m totally new to fedora...... i just installed fedora wanted to access the internet so just did the proxy settings in the browser like i used to do for windows....... however the net is not working... smeone told me that there is some config file where we need to enter the proxy server's id addess n port.......

I have access to a server via ssh. I'm allowed to install things in my userspace. Furthermore, I'm allowed to use the bandwidth. I paid for access to this server, so they're pretty much ok with me doing things with my space. They told me not to store over 20 GBs of data, and I've kept to that rule.

Hello,

I installed privoxy on my server. But i dont like, that everybody can use my proxy. so i need an authentification.

can i add this to my privoxy or is this not possible?

i need to add the proxy-url on a browser, so i dont want to install additional software on the client.

i hope this is possbile.
