Hi,
Need your help. I am new to openSUSE and have this problem:
Everytime I attempt to play a video from any website it does not play.
Error from CNN:
" This ...is optimized for Flash player....Install flash player"
Error from youtube:
Hello
Been having problems with flash, and I really need some help.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall in yast
no luck. uninistalled again.
I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash 10 rpm direct from adobe.
I shut down firefox and then restarted...went to youtube....
no luck. I get the annoying error:
Hi, I just installed Fedora 16 and am using Firefox.
When I go youtube, at the top of the first page it says "You need to upgrade your adobe flash player to watch this video".
When I installed 12.04 I also added Ubuntu-restricted-extras. I decided to try accessing flash content in Firefox without the Adobe plugin, and I wanted to experiment with streaming video directly with VLC, so I removed flashplugin-installer.
Adobe on Tuesday unveiled Flash Player 10.1 for Mobile together with a slew of announcements from partners and content providers. The new Flash edition has been optimized for efficient battery and CPU usage, addressing two of the key criticisms Apple CEO Steve Jobs had made of the platform.
Adobe Systems announced it has released the mobile version of Flash Player 10.1 to its platform partners, and the media player will & soon& arrive on Android 2.2-ready phones. Meanwhile, Brightcove has released a web video player SDK for Android based on Flash 10.1....
I have an issue that is driving me nuts and shouldnt be an issue on a device such as the S3. My phone will not play videos on CNN or ESPN. It says need adobe flash player which is already installed or says the video content cannot be displayed on my device. I've also tried using Chrome, Firefox, and Dolphin browsers with same thing.
Adobe's Flash download page is displaying a message:
NOTE: Adobe Flash Player 11.2 will be the last version to target Linux
as a supported platform. Adobe will continue to provide security
backports to Flash Player 11.2 for Linux.
What is the plans for Flash support in the future?
With a bit of luck HTML5 media support will drop website developer's dependency on Flash.
Proprietary plugins can’t be included in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by default (due to some licensing incompatibilities with Adobe flash player or mp3 codecs).
