How to get internal hard disk working in Lubuntu?

http://askubuntu.com – Previously, I had in this Windows installed on this computer, but then I installed lubuntu. There are two HDDs in this computer, and I installed lubuntu in the other, which I had split into two partitions. The partitions which didn't have lubuntu, were formated as ntfs and had some videos on other stuff and they did work properly in lubuntu. Now I have formatted those partitions with ext4, and now when i start my computer, there are two errors: An error occurred while mounting /media/sdb1 The disk drive for /media/sda5 is not ready yet or not present and I have to press S in both cases. Lubuntu DVD does not boot 47 weeks 6 days ago

I downloaded from Lubuntu ISO from the first link on the lubuntu website.

Burned a DVD with CD Burner XP in another PC , and at the target computer changed BIOS boot settings to boot from CD/DVD drive first.

Now at the target computer there was an old Ubuntu 8,04 Hardy Heron already installed.

The DVD does not get detected when i put newly burned DVD at DVD drive.

Where am I wrong?

Last night I installed Lubuntu 11.10 on my desktop PC, before that I only had Ubuntu 11.10, but now I have a "Dual-Boot" PC, with GRUB. The problem, I want to uninstall Lubuntu because it doesn't liked to me :(

I tried to do that on Lubuntu's Live-CD GParted, but it has partitions that I don't know.

I've just recently started using Lubuntu.

The first time I installed the 'minimal' system (from 'Minimal CD) and then installed the Lubuntu desktop on top.

I was wondering if the lubuntu live CD contains gparted too? I'd like to instal lubuntu on my friend's laptop, but I need to create partitions 1st. By the way, what format should I give to the future partitions? Ext4, just like in Ubuntu?

Auto-mounting in Lubuntu 9 weeks 1 day ago

I tried set-up fstab for auto-moutning my ext4 drive:

/dev/sdb /media/vitaly/ ext4 auto,exec,rw 0 0

But Lubuntu can't start with this parameters: Mounting error: press S to skip mounting this device.

What is my problem? I have three internal ext4 drive - after every restart I need push every device in PCManFM and enter password for mounting.

Trying to install ubuntu on a computer with lubuntu, but my attempts with both a live dvd (since the ISO for ubuntu is too big for a cd) and a live usb have only ended in failure. When I try to boot from the usb, I keep getting an error saying no ISO found. For the dvd, I get "No media found". Is this related to having lubuntu on the hard drive?

I've just installed Lubuntu 12.10 on an old laptop (IBM ThinkPad 600X). However, after booting Lubuntu, everything looks like in negative (eg. colors are inverted, like there's some assistive technology enabled). During installation (using alternative installer), colors were OK. Before installing Lubuntu, I had windows installed, it was showing colors OK as well.

I made a live Lubuntu 12.10 CD, booted it up using the CD, installed Lubuntu got to the point where it says need to restart your computer now and after I take the CD out I restart the computer and it goes to the Lubuntu screen with the 5 dots and it just stays there, so after about 30 minutes I tried to restart the computer and it comes up with an error, which is [14.891249][drmidrm_crtc_helper_se

Lubuntu from USB 30 weeks 6 days ago

I have An Acer Aspire 1362 Laptop with AMD Sompron 2800+ processor and only 256MB RAM, with Windows XP installed. I have downloaded Lubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso and installed it to a 16GB USB stick. I do not want to install Lubuntu on my hard drive (yet!).

I have got the USB stick to boot, and am working my way through the menu.
