I have a little question. I cant "connect" mplayer (not the gui) with the video-files in gnome3. Even exists mplayer(not gui) if i try "open with other application".
What is the problem with this?.
Bye!
I installed gnome-shell - for who knows what reason - on Natty, from gnome3 launchpad PPA:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
sudo apt-get install gnome-session
After I realized I made mistake:
ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
and reverted system to previous state.
I have Ubuntu 11.10 with gnome3/shell installed.
I am sure this is a silly question but I can't for the life of me find an answer. Obviously, Gnome3 is capable of organizing applications by category, and when I am in Gnome Classic, of course it does. However, when I am in the new shell this category view disappears.

After I login to system, I could not see it anymore!
My problem is almost the same as following:

And other packages have the latest versions as well,

I have Fedora 17 GNOME installed on my Asus 1015PX. I have my personal files on a flashdrive. After closing a new or edited text files, tmp files are permanently saved on my flashdrive. I am manually opening up my folders to search for the tmp files and manually deleting the tmp files.
One of the things I always change in Windows 7 because it annoys me is the window going full screen if I accidentally bump the top of the screen when moving it.
It seems GNOME3 has copied Windows 7 behavior in this respect, except they took away the Maximize button, so if I disable the bump top to maximize in GNOME3 (assuming I can) I would have to either right click and choose a menu item or use
