I need to install a compatible video driver on a Fedora machine.
The resolution proportion isn't very well and I can't change the brightness and contrast (xbacklight and xgamma) either.
Please answer me with a complete solution or a final successfully tutorial.
Some information about the system is:
$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 2nd Generation Core Proce
I can't set my desktop resolution beyond 1024x768 on Ubuntu 12.04. Everything else seems to be fine, I just don't have the option in Displays to set the monitor to a higher resolution.
Hello:
I just installed F17 and my monitor is running in a less than preferred configuration. In my search for an updated or more capable driver, that's where I get stuck.
I am an Ubuntu User since 4 years, i have duel boot with ubuntu 10.04 and ubuntu 12.04, my problem is with ubuntu 12.04 it does not showing higher resolution than 1024. in ubuntu 10.04 there is no issues

#lspci | grep VGA

2.
I am on an HP Envy 14, and the proper resolution that I should be using is 1366x768. This is not an option and I am stuck on 1024x768.
Note: I've seen this question quite a lot, but in all the cases I could find with answers, the answer was either "I don't know" or "use nvidia-settings (which is irrelevant to me)."
I'm using Intel Sandybridge Desktop graphics, with a P8H61-M LE motherboard.
I just installed Fedora 17 on my HP Pavilion G6 Laptop however the maximum resolution is 1024X768 where as my screen has 1366X768 max resolution. I've tried looking for a new driver but everywhere I go seems to say that intel drivers are already bundled up with the OS. Is there something i'm missing?
