I have a code:
struct hostent *hp = gethostbyname(dns.c_str());
in my app. I compile it on Ubuntu server linking all statically. All ok, but when i try to start this app on CentOS i have a error in this gethostbyname calling:
Floating point exception
Can you help me how to fix that?

Where 'a' is a floating point and 'b' is integer.
If 'a' and 'b' are both floating point then above command does not work.
How to do when 'a' and 'b' both are floating point?
I have an old Acer laptop that I want to play a few older games on, but I can't because, (I think this is the problem, but not sure) I don't have floating point texture support.
Running Archlinux with floating point textures enabled in mesa, with the i915 kernel module (old intel GPU). Could it be that my hardware simply can't do it? Or is there any hope?
I've tested Geekbench for my computer for both Windows and Linux. It seems that Linux loses markedly in floating point performance.
Is there anything I can do about it? Install an optimization library? Change some setting? How can difference in floating point arithmetic be explained?
