Hi there,
being quite new to Ubuntu I encountered the following issue:
On Ubuntu 12.04.1 pressing the physical power button on the machine shuts down the pc. However, this only works if a user is logged in, i.e. there's no effect of power button presses at the login screen.
Is this the intended behavior?
I have a rooted droid bionic with eclipse rom. I accidentally dropped my phone really bad and now the power/lock button is broken. I have no way of turning it on. When I plug the phone with the charger it'll turn on, but it'll only show the battery screen showing me that it's charging. I can get into recovery because I simultaneously hold the volume keys before I plug the charger.
I've been using Hardy Heron for a few months on a third-hand Compaq Presario S3200NX with the original monitor with few problems. I was recently given a new-to-me flatscreen (Gateway 900W, mfg June 2006) for use instead and attempted to install it with no luck.
Here's what I've managed to see on the monitor:
Monitor on, computer off: black screen, orange power button
MY galaxy s2 has problems with powering off every now and then. it was really bad at one point where all it was doing is turning on and rebooting right after. i had a custom rom for months and never had problems until yesterday. i couldnt go on recovery mode because it would always restart every five seconds.
The power button on my phone doesn't do anything. It was fine, then a minute later, it just stopped working. The button is fully intact, and presses in and everything. It just doesn't lock/unlock the screen, and I can't use it to turn the phone on or off. It simply doesn't register the button press. Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
i have own samsung galaxy y pro duos GT B5512 and question is that could anybudy tell me about is there any other way to unlock the device without pressing power (when screen goes off) button, i mean to say like samsung galaxy y s5360 where we can press home button to stay screen on? If after rooting device is it possible please tell me.
My idea behind asking this Q.
I have a (seemingly rather exotic) Dell Latitude XT2 notebook running Lubuntu 12.04, fresh install.
Tried to get the power button to work as expected (opening lubuntu-logout, just as I think it was meant to be out-of-the box), but no success: power button does nothing but forced power-off on long press.
Here some more information, please ask if something more could help:
Power button is recogni
Is it possible to have the screen stay on until I manually press the power button while unlocked, but sleep after a set time while locked?
For example if I just press the power button and check the time, or it is accidentally pressed in my pocket, the screen will automatically turn off soon. However, if I wake up and unlock my phone, the screen will stay on until I press the button.
Hi All,
I've just rooted my phone (my first root) and installed Nameless ROM v7.2 Build 5 with the 806Mhz image. Right after that everything seemed to be fine.
