Hey guys!Just a quick question: how do I switch ctrl and caps lock in a virtual terminal (not xterm/urxvt/etc. - I'm talking about tty1-6).Thanks in advance!- Chaanakya
I am on a Lenovo W500 with German keyboard layout. I use Ubuntu 12.10 and have configured my keyboard layout to use the Caps Lock as Ctrl. But it does not work. I even tried to reboot my system.
Here is the configuration of my "Keyboard Layout".
My goal is to have Caps Lock and Left Ctrl as Left Ctrl plus the Right Ctrl as Right Ctrl.
I have a problem with Ctrl-key combinations in emacs with the Apple USB keyboard. I have set Caps-Lock as an additional Ctrl key.
When using the Caps-Lock as Ctrl, 'Ctrl-x Ctrl-f' sometimes registers properly but sometimes registers as 'x Ctrl-f'. This happens both when I release and depress the Ctrl key or hold the Ctrl key and do 'Ctrl-x-f'.
I am using Keyboard Layouts Plugin to switch between two layouts.
I want to remap Caps Lock to underscore "_"
First I empty Caps Lock, or otherwise caps lock will do both – toggle caps and produce underscore character and then map caps lock to underscore
xmodmap -e "keycode 66 = "
xmodmap -e "keycode 66 = underscore"
Problem?
This resets every time I log out or change something in Keyboard La
I've been trying to swap CAPS LOCK key with Tab key. So the CAPS LOCK key shouldn't turn on the CAPS anymore, instead, act as the Tab key. Some people told me that I should create a .Xmodmap file in the ~/ directory. But I have no idea what's next.
Any suggestions?
I know how to use xmodmap to remap the Caps lock key so it acts as a Control key, or as an Escape key.
Hi, sorry to post yet another thread about key configs but I just recently installed #! and can't figure out how to swap my caps lock and ctrl buttons (i.e. swap their functions).
Morning All,In order not to have to keep typing bits of text like email addresses and after reading a post on the #! forums last night, I have the following in my rc.xml file.
My Caps Lock key on my keyboard is not working.
The light indicator does not come on and nothing is capitalized when typing.
What do i need to do to fix this issue.
xmodmap -e "add Lock = Caps_Lock" did not work.
Swapped out other keyboards and still have the same results. The Caps Lock is working on all three on windows.
