I am a very new Ubuntu user with a Toshiba Satellite L855-S5243 with a Realtek RTL8723AE Wireless LAN 802.11N PCI-E NIC wireless card and a Atheros AR8161/8165 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller and even though i have internet connection on windows i cannot connect to the internet on ubuntu using ethernet or wireless.

I am a relatively new Xubuntu 11.10 user. I have an HP Pavilion dv6 (dv6z-6c00). I had no trouble connecting to WiFi network or internet until I moved 2 days ago and Comcast provided a new modem (Arris TG862). Trying to connect to the internet via Linksys WRT120N router.
I had issues connecting but thought it was because it was a new house and signal was weak in my bedroom.

Soo, I just installed Ubuntu 9.10 and everything was ok util I was going to connect to internet. I just cant't find any way to connect to any wireless networks. I'm living in a board school so wireless is my only way to connect to internet.
I have been using Fedora 12 for the past one week but am not able to connect to the internet. Though the connection information shows that the network is active, I am not able to connect to the internet. The IP addresses of the default gateway, DHCP and DNS servers are as follows:
Default Gateway, DHCP and DNS servers: 192.168.1.1
IP address: 192.168.1.3
