My 3 Quad port network adapters can be recognised when I write the 'ifconfig' command, but they all seem to be in 'Device not ready' state when I click on the networking tab at the toolbar (please see pictures below).
At the 'System Setting' they all seem to be recognised but again, their state doesn't change when I plug a network cable into them.
Could anybody advise if there is a solution to t
Hey everyone, I've bought 2 network adapters lately, and although one had worked with the inclusion of ndiswrapper, my system kept receiving internal errors from it so it had to be uninstalled. Anyway I'm just asking if anyone has a network adapter that has native drivers on Ubuntu 12.04.
the network script I ran above was run from the command line via: sudo /etc/rc.d/network startafter the system started up and I logged in. Basically the /etc/rc.d/network startup script is broken for me. For some reason dhcpcd when run from the script fails, yet when I run it manually it is successful.

I am attempting to set up a server with a total of four single-mode fiber ports - two need to be at least 1Gb and two must be 10Gb. I have found a variety of 10Gb single-mode fiber network adapters (for example the Intel X520-LR1 and the QLogic 3242-LR), but no 1Gb single-mode fiber adapters.
This is my script structure
main script calls configure script which needs to be run as a different user and the configure script calls my application installation script.
The devices are present but not properly configured. I suggest you run system-config-network-tui to configure the network. If it is not installed, then use the [c6-media] repo defined in /... [by pschaff]

I recently switched from ubuntu to fedora and had a script to mount and umount sshfs when the network changed states. I placed the scripts in /etc/network/if-up.d/ and /etc/network/if-down.d/ and they were run any time the network went up or down.
I am using static IP addressing, I configured network via system-config-network.ok,so here is actuall output of the script - h... [by Whiskey69_CZ]
