Hi guys, I am a complete noob.... heres my situation, I have installed fedora 11 on my desktop computer last night. I am trying to dual boot windows vista ultimate and fedora 11. My hard drive is 250 gb and I have aloted 200 gb for vista and the rest to linux which is an unpartitioned space.
so:
dev/sda1 -> NTFS
I have a dual boot system Vista and Ubuntu.
I'm not quite sure how to partition my dual-boot Windows Vista and Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.
I've gotten the part of the hard drive I want allocated to Ubuntu, but don't know how to partition my Ubuntu install.
I can't find any threads to help.
So I've attached a screenshot of my gparted screen.
Thanks

System specs: Acer Aspire 5738Z, Ubuntu 11.10 with GParted. 320GB hard-drive. (GParted is confused, the total of all partitions is 426GB, but the manufacturer's sticker clearly says "320GB HDD".)
I had allocated 10GB to Ubuntu during the installation a year and a bit ago. I thought that I could have a copy of any file on my windows partition, so I wouldn't need it on the Ubuntu one.
Hello, not sure if this is the right place for this question, feel free to move it!
I run Lubuntu but wanted to install Windows. So I used GParted Live CD to shrink the Linux partition and create a new Windows partition. Then I installed Windows on that partition fine and it boots.
I',m new to ubuntu but have used the live cd ( the most recent version and, 9.04 from a text book) and love what I've experienced. I have an ASUS k50j laptop, with an ATA WDC 320 Gib Hard Drive.
Hi all, I've just got a new laptop running windows vista 64 bit but going to be removing that & installing fedora 11 on it & seeing as Ubuntu doesn't come with a pae kernel as standard yet, fedora is the way to go :). the Hard drive is 2x500 gigs running in raid 0 mode
here's how I would like to install fedora
I had FOUR NTFS partitions on my drive. One on which Windows 7 was installed (C Drive) and the other contained my data (D Drive) (E Drive) (F drive) .
During Ubuntu installation I chose to install Ubuntu and erase my existing OS. When Ubuntu was installed, I was shocked to see no partition. All my data was gone.
i have one hard disk and two operating systems Ubuntu and Lubuntu.
I wanted to install Windows XP also but i had only two partitions.
I used GPARTED to resize partition with Lubuntu to get more space for new partition. After that i rebooted and wanted to install XP on new partition.
