How do I troubleshoot connections to iTunes in Amarok?

When Amarok does not automatically work with no configuration, what can I do to troubleshoot it? I've confirmed that sharing is enabled in iTunes, and that the share is visible in Rhythmbox, so I believe I need to focus on troubleshooting Amarok. (HowTos)
