Hi All,
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 desktop with all default installation and all is running well.
I have installed a remote support application "Teamviewer7", which allows me to remote into my desktop from office.
I have auto login enabled, and I just upgraded to 11.04. When I boot, I get a message saying that I don't have the hardware required to run Unity, so I should choose Ubuntu Classic at the login screen. The problem is that auto login bypasses the login screen, and I can't disable auto login via the normal route since I can't start xwindows.
you should have got an error somewhere when enabling "kde.service," because that service doesn't exist. KDE's login manager is kdm. you should dosystemctl enable kdm.serviceinstead.
This quick tutorial will show you how to easily configure common programs or services to automatically startup everytime you login to Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick.
I've recently reinstalled CentOS onto a computer of mine. I have OpenSSH Server on it now, as did I before I reinstalled the operating system.
Here's the difference: Before, SSH started without even having to login to an account. Now, it seems like I have to login to an account on the machine before being able to remotely connect via SSH.
Can anyone help?
I haven't used thunderbird for a while but when i started to use it again I found out that i have to give the application driven password since i'm using gmail. So i types that application password which is automatically given by the google, but it asks for that every time i try to login.
I am looking for a command similar to wall but will deliver a message to users currently sshed in and if they are not logged in will display upon their next ssh login( but only once ). Context is that I may( not guaranteed ) have a network outage but not everyone on the machine(s) will have gotten the maintenance email and I would rather forward the email to all the users of the machine(s).
So, I have that stupid problem and now it's getting really annoying.
When I boot, it doesn't go to the login screen like it should.
Every time I restart my computer and login into my ubuntu account for the first time, I can't click on anything besides the bar on the left.
I can start Firefox from there, but I am not able to click on the new tab button etc.
Same will all other apps. I can start the Terminal via the keyboard, but I can't move it around.
I have to logout via the keyboard and login again.
