I have been using Ubuntu for a couple of days now, and just thought I would experiment with Clamav. When I scan my /home folder, however, the scan summary says that ther are 2557166 known viruses. I would like to point out that it is only scanning 11 files.
Could these be false positives, or is it something serious that I should be worried about?
I just installed clamav on my centos6.4 system and it works as expected (though a bit slow). I plan to let it scan during nighttime when I'm most likely to be sleeping already (around 05.43). This is where I will run a cronjob.
13 5 * * * root freshclam
43 5 * * * root clamav -r -i ?????
1. I dualboot, is it possible to scan the win (ntfs) partition too?
I'm only running on a low memory system so would like to run only one clamd, but i have googled for hours trying to find the answer with no luck. I tried clamscan instead but it takes far too long to scan each email.
I installed clamav from the yum repos with yum install -y clamav and havent changed any default settings.
Does anyone know how to limit the clamd to run only once?
