Seeing the frustration many seem to experience with WiFi drivers (including myself), I thought it important to post the results of my effort. I tried all of the publicly available drivers I could find. Nothing worked. A simple email to Realtek support via their website fixed the problem. I sent the Version, kernel, and card information.
I am new to linux and having problems with Wifi. It does work, but it's very slow and shaky (drops connection). All the other machines (few Windows, Xbox, Samsung smart-tv etc) work just fine.
I have searched these forums and it seems that many people are having problems with default drivers. Realtek provides linux drivers, but I am not sure how to install them.
when i restart my Dell inspiron 5010 it do not detects the wifi drivers and the hotkey for turning the wifi card on is not working either. I am using proprietary drivers "Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA Wireless driver source from bcmwl-kernel-source (proprietary)".
I need to click and apply "Do not Use the device" and then switch back to the proprietary driver.
I finally fixed my issues with Ndiswrapper, I was able to update to version 1.57. :D Now I need to install my driver.
I put the drivers in my home folder in a folder called "Wifi-Drivers". Here is the command I'm running, please correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a new USB dongle wireless adapter, Realtek 8178 (uses 8192CU driver). Frustratingly enough, I had it working, then I changed something. All I did was change its NAME="wlan1" to NAME="wlan0" (and comment out the line for the old wlan0 device) in /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules.
Hello,
I've recently installed 12.04 x86 on my Samsung R720 however the sound I'm hearing is "tinny" and flat - this problem isn't usual as when I first boot up a new install of Windows I have this problem so I have to install the Realtek HD drivers however I'm experiencing problems achieving this.
I've downloaded the drivers v3.0 Linux from the Realtek website (5.17rc1) and export
Hello Arch forums. I had a question about Realtek wireless drivers. I have the Realtek 8188CE wireless adapter and it is my understanding that this driver isn't supported under linux. I do have a wifi connection, but in Linux it is not nearly as responsive as it is in Windows(I have a dual-boot).
I have some problems with Wifi at my Lenovo Z575. Under Win 7 Wifi works fine, so I wanted to install exactly the same drivers under Ubuntu with ndiswrapper.
My question is: where the drivers are located under Win 7? I tried to download the drivers from the vendor's site (Ralink) but with the downloaded drivers I still have some problems
