I'm currently trying to write a couple of systemd/udev configuration files that will allow me to automount/unmount MTP Android devices on my Archlinux laptop. It took me some time, but so far it works pretty well.
Now, I would like for any user with fuse permissions to be able to unmount the device.
With FUSE it is possible to mount many things purely as a non privileged user. However, it seems that for webdav davfs2 is the preferred project, which appears to be a filesystem driver and uses the standard mount/umount which requires privileges.
Is there a way to use this (or another library) to mount webdav only as a user via fuse ? (i.e.
I want to mount an external HDD.I have tried many things but still no success. When i try to mount it from Disk Utility i get this error:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with: Unprivileged user can not mount NTFS block devices using the external FUSE library. Either mount the volume as root, or rebuild NTFS-3G with integrated FUSE support and make it setuid root.
I'm trying to setup a Raspberry Pi as a file server using ddumbfs to reduce the storage requirements.
The compilation and install goes just fine, but when I get to mount the filesystem I get nothing.
When I run the ddumbfs command to mount the FS, I get normal output from the program but the filesystem is not mounted.
I just got a new flash drive, it worked fine, but then I started messing with this app called "storage device manager" and now when I try to mount the flash drive, I get this:
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 1: helper failed with:
Unprivileged user can not mount NTFS block devices using the external FUSE
