So I set a PIN lock on my S4 today, but it doesn't seem to be working. It still only takes a swipe to unlock the phone. Under "Screen lock" on the lock screen settings menu it says "Secured with PIN", but when I lock and reopen the phone, it still only takes a swipe to unlock. No idea what's going on, is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
Sorry, I am new to android. When I setup lock screen and turn off, the screen does not have the lock screen I setup when I turn it back on. It still show the swipe screen, no pin lock or password screen. Now if i power off and reboot then it show up. Also if I set up a type of pass lock then I can't use the lock widget anymore. It just won't show when I scroll right or left.
Here's a way to use a custom image from your Gallery on the lock screen if you like to just use swipe for security. From your home screen go to settings, security, lock screen change it to Pin and use an easy to remember number. Now when you go to settings, display, lock screen you can use the plain old Gallery to insert a custom image.
I had my phone set to have the pattern lock screen on. I went to take a shower, came back and my phone no longer had the pattern setting on it when I went to enter into my phone. (yes, someone else was in the room too)
Is it possible for someone to take that off your phone somehow? I'm feeling very uneasy about it... I know these things don't just magically disappear.
To access camera on lock screen, I need to disable secure lock such as pattern lock or pin code lock so I can access camera from lock screen. Otherwise, it will unlock and ask for code to unlock before start camera.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G. 3g, 4g, WiFi all work fine during use.
My problem relates to 3g/4g ("mobile internet") turning off when the phone has spent >3 minutes in the lock screen.
I can get 3g/4g to turn back on by clicking the home button/power key and then also entering my pattern to pass the lock screen.

I then lost my imei and couldn't make/receive calls. So I spent like 12 hours wallowing in sorrow and pondering.. I then used ODIN to flash param bin and successfully got my imei back ! Woot!
But now, there is a box on my screen, screenshot.
And I can't lock my screen.
I needed to lock orientation for one particular app, and so I wrote a little app to do that. For good measure, I also allow it to adjust the screen timeout for different apps and to set audio boost for different apps (if you don't want the latter two features, just do menu | settings and turn them off).
Was curious if there were any good lock screen apps. I.e. clock, text pop ups, custom lock screen, (I already have that option but haven't found a good one yet) etc.
