How do I know whether my graphic drivers are installed or not

http://askubuntu.com – I have installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my lenovo laptop and found a "chip" image on the top of the screen. It showed me to install 3 drivers ATI/AMD Proprietary FGLRX graphics drivers (post-release updates) Broadcom STA wireless drivers ATI/AMD Proprietary FGLRX graphics drivers When I installed 1st one, it showed me some error so, I installed 2nd one it was successful. I went to 3rd and it failed 1st time and later it worked.. After when I came back and found that it isn't not installed. I think these are for my ATI Radeon graphic drivers but don't know why its happening. If even found the "S (HowTos)

Fresh install of 12.04

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RS880 [Radeon HD 4200]

'Additional Drivers' shows ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver, and ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver (post-release updates) as not installed. ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver says it installs successfully when I try.

I have the ATI (AMD) HD7870 graphic card and I had just installed Ubuntu. With the Open Source drivers the desktop works fine; however, since I have a newer card, I'd like the proprietary drivers installed.

However, whenever I install it either from Additional Drivers, or from the AMD's website, I am able to log in, but then compiz immediately crashes and all I see is my desktop background.

Sorry, I know there are dozens of threads titled "no proprietary drivers are in use on this system," but none of them answered my question. Most of them centered around nVidia drivers.

I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 on an Acer Aspire AM3970. I can't for the life of me get the wireless to work.

My computer has an AMD Radeon HD6890 graphics card, and when Precise was running I had installed the proprietary drivers from AMD's website. After I updated to Quantal, Ubuntu would not detect my monitor's correct resolution, among other things. I went back on AMD's website to see if there were updated drivers and found some.

I've installed the FGLRX drivers using a guide from here and am able to now play quake live, yay!

This is my first post, so I'm not sure if I posted to the right section.

I am having problems getting the HDMI to work on my laptop running 12.04 LTS.

Background I got it to work for a while using the opensource radeon drivers. But seeing the the temperature was running at 80++ degrees, I decided to install fglrx drivers to see if it improved.

I had 9.04 on my HP Pavilion DV6570, everything worked fine until I decided to install 9.10. I installed a fresh setup and now I can't use my broadcom wireless, when I go to Hardware drivers to enable proprietary drivers there is nothing to activate, no wireless driver, no graphic driver!

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04.2 and when I went to install the proprietary AMD/ATI drivers, I was given three choices: ATI FGLRX -post release update ATI FGLRX -experimental beta Experimental AMD binary Xorg driver and kernel module

I installed first the post release update, but when I went to additional drivers it stated the driver is activated but not currently in use.
